Trailer recovered during traffic stop

WINCHESTER — The Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau – Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) and SD&G OPP conducted a traffic stop on Sept 8. on Boyne Rd., in Winchester. Police seized a stolen trailer and a quantity of methamphetamine.

John Vanbridger, 43, of Winchester, was arrested and charged with: possession of property obtained by crime – over $5000 and possession of a controlled substance, according to the SD&G, while Jonathan Gray, 32, of Winchester, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance.

Both males were released and are scheduled to appear in Morrisburg court on October 10.

Drugs seized during traffic stop

NORTH STORMONT — The local detachment was assisted by the Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau (OCEB), Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) and SD&G OPP on Sept. 6 as they conducted traffic stop on County Road 12, North Stormont, which resulted in the seizure of cocaine.

According to the SD&G OPP, Gabriella Maiorani, 22, of Ottawa, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and failure to comply with conditions of a probation order.

Tammi Laidlaw, 49, of Ottawa, was arrested and charged with the possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.

Both females were released and are scheduled to appear in Cornwall court on October 24.

Domestic investigations

SOUTH DUNDAS — SD&G OPP officers were notified of domestic situation around 2 a.m. at a residence in South Dundas on Sept. 10. Police discovered that a female assaulted her ex-boyfriend during an altercation. Police were told the female had threatened the male and had caused damage to his home, plus had removed some of his property.

A 21-year-old female from North Grenville, was arrested and is charged with; assault, assault with a weapon, four counts of uttering threats, two counts of mischief, theft under $5000, and break and enter.

She was released and scheduled to appear in Cornwall court on October 3. Her name is being withheld in order to protect the identity of the victim.

Impaired driving

SOUTH GLENGARRY — SD&G OPP officers responded to report shortly before 2:30 a.m. of a single vehicle collision on Highway 401 on Sept. 10, in South Glengarry. The investigation revealed that the adult male driver was under the influence of alcohol.

Wayne Norman, 56, of Vankleek Hill, was arrested and charged with care or control of a motor vehicle with over 80 milligrams of alcohol in blood, and driving a motor vehicle while impaired, according to the local detachment.

He was released and is scheduled to appear in Alexandria court on October 11.

Domestic investigations

NORTH DUNDAS — Just before 12:30 p.m. SD&G OPP officers responded to a report on Sept. 10 of a domestic situation at a residence in North Dundas. Investigation indicated that an altercation took place between a male and his ex-girlfriend. The male assaulted and threatened the female.He also assaulted another present male.

A 17-year-old male from North Grenville was arrested and is charged with; two counts of assault, uttering threats,overcome resistance by attempting to choke

He was held in custody pending a court bail appearance in Cornwall court.

His name is being withheld in order to protect the identity of the victim and in accordance to the provisions of the YCJA.

NORTH STORMONT — SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a domestic situation at 4 p.m. at a residence in North Stormont on Sept. 10. Investigation indicated that an altercation had took place between a male and his ex-wife and where he caused damage to property in her home.

A 42-year-old male from North Stormont, was arrested and is charged with two counts of mischief.

He was released and scheduled to appear in Cornwall court on October 3. His name is being withheld in order to protect the identity of the victim.
