Suspects sought in home invasion
OTTAWA — The Ottawa Police Service Robbery Unit is investigating a recent home invasion and is seeking the public’s assistance to identify the two suspects responsible.
Two suspects dressed in construction-style clothing, rang the doorbell of a residence along the 100 block of Westover just before 11 a.m. on Sept 11. When the lone female occupant opened the door, the duo forced their way into the residence. The suspects were armed with handguns. While one suspect controlled the victim, the second suspect searched the premises. The suspects left after obtaining only a couple of women’s handbags. The occupant was uninjured. It is unclear at this time if the residence was specifically targeted. The suspects walked away northbound and may have had a vehicle parked nearby.
The suspects are described as follows (images shown below):
Suspect #1 — Asian male, medium height/build, short hair, wearing a yellow construction hat, a fluorescent vest over a black jacket, sunglasses, and yellow/black Stanley work gloves.
Suspect #2 — Caucasian male, medium height/build, wearing a construction hat and fluorescent jacket, black pants with a reflective stripe, sunglasses, and black work gloves.
The suspects carried a large black duffle bag, possibly Adidas, with a “UCLA” marking and yellow stripes (images shown below) Investigators would like to locate any local retailer(s) that carry this specific item, as it appeared to be new and unmarked.
Police would like to speak to any proprietor that might recognize these suspects, or anyone in the area of the occurrence that saw the suspects.
