CHESTERVILLE — Armed with a $1,000 donation from the Chesterville & District Rotary Club late last year, members of the Upper Canada Quilt Guild have stitched up some valuable handiwork for good causes.

Bound for Camp Erin, Naomi House and other charitable uses, a slew of quilts have been produced by Guild members using materials funded by the local Rotarians’ contribution. The Guild’s Thea Chouinard, Pat Lemare, Margaret Asquini and Lois Beckstead recently showed off the fruits of their labours for Club members during an Aug. 14 barbecue at the Dunbar home of John and Beate Stewart.

Among the visitors taking in the colourful spectacle that evening were Rotary District 7040 Governor Sue Bellor of Massena and husband Ken, along Area Governor Ken Durand of Prescott and his daughter, as well as two guests from the UK.
