’66 Buick stolen

SOUTH STORMONT — A 1966 Blue Buick Lesabre was stolen from a Willy Allan Rd. residence in South Stormont sometime between Sept. 18-19, according to the SD&G OPP.

Excessive speeder

SOUTH STORMONT — A Laval, Que., motorist’s journey through South Stormont came to an abrupt halt at 7 a.m. on Sept. 19 when SD&G OPP officers clocked him at 160 km/h on Highway 401.

By allegedly exceeding the posted limit 100 km/h by more than 50 km/h, the 45-year-old male driver triggered the heightened and immediate consequences under the “stunt driving” provisions of Ontario’s Highway Traffic Act: The car he was driving was impounded and his driver’s permit seized, both for seven days.

Breach of conditions

SOUTH DUNDAS —An Edwardsburg man faces charges in connection with breaching earlier imposed conditions, following a Sept. 19 disturbance that drew police to an Ontario St. address.

SD&G OPP officers arrested Christopher White, 36, after being called to the scene shortly before 7:30 p.m. Police say he’s charged with three counts of Fail to Comply Recognizance.

The accused was held in custody pending Cornwall bail appearance.

According to the SD&G OPP, Faydra Hulse, 41, of Cornwall, Ontario, was arrested and charged with: Drive Disqualified; Possession of a Controlled Substance; and Drive Under suspension (Highway traffic Act).

She was released and scheduled to appear in Cornwall court on Nov. 7.
