Drugs seized, two charged in Rockland

ROCKLAND — A man and a woman from Rockland have been arrested and charged after police seized illegal drugs with an estimated street value of more than $8,000 in that village late last week.

The OPP’s Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau – Community Street Crime Unit executed a search warrant at an address on Sept. 28. The raid followed complaints in the community that sparked an investigation by the Russell County OPP Community Street Crime Unit. Police report the seizure of cocaine, over 850 methamphetamine (speed) pills, marijuana, hash, cannabis oil, electronic cigarettes, magic mushrooms, codeine, drug trafficking equipment and over $3,000 in cash.

Police say that Josée Jubinville, 44, is charged with:

  • Possession of a substance in Schedule 2 (cannabis marihuana) for the purpose of trafficking- under 3kg C.D.S.A. Section 5(2);
  • Possession of a substance in Schedule 2 (cannabis marihuana resin) for the purpose of trafficking- under 3kg C.D.S.A. Section 5(2);
  • Possession of a substance in Schedule 1 (methamphetamine) for the purpose of trafficking- C.D.S.A. Section 5(2);
  • Possession of a substance in Schedule 1 (codeine) for the purpose of trafficking- C.D.S.A. Section 5(2);
  • Possession of a substance in Schedule 3 (psilocybin) for the purpose of trafficking- C.D.S.A. Section 5(2);
  • Possession of property obtained by crime in Canada under 5000$ -CC Section 353(1)(A).

Police say that Sebastien Charron, 34, is charged with:

  • Possession of a substance in Schedule 2 (cannabis marihuana) for the purpose of trafficking- under 3kg C.D.S.A. Section 5(2);
  • Possession of a substance in Schedule 2 (cannabis marihuana resin) for the purpose of trafficking- under 3kg C.D.S.A. Section 5(2);
  • Possession of a substance in Schedule 1 (cocaine) for the purpose of trafficking- C.D.S.A. Section 5(2);
  • Possession of a substance in Schedule 1 (methamphetamine) for the purpose of trafficking- C.D.S.A. Section 5(2);
  • Possession of a substance in Schedule 1 (codeine) for the purpose of trafficking- C.D.S.A. Section 5(2);
  • Possession of a substance in Schedule 3 (psilocybin) for the purpose of trafficking- C.D.S.A. Section 5(2);
  • Possession of property obtained by crime in Canada under 5000$ -CC Section 353(1)(A).

Jubinville was held in custody and was scheduled to appear Oct. 1 at the Ontario Court of Justice in L’Orignal. Charron was released on a promise to appear; he’s due in L’Orignal court on Oct. 25.
