BRINSTON — Come one, come all to Brinston Memorial Park’s 2nd annual Pig Roast. The Matilda Memorial Recreation Committee has been hard at work planning this event.
Last year’s Pig Roast was held a month earlier but in anticipation of the unveiling of the new play structure, the committee chose to hold off the event to coincide with the completion of the installation.
Groundbreaking for the structure is set to begin on October 19, just in time for the Oct., 28 Pig Roast.
The committee will officially unveil the new climber at 11:30, morning of the Pig Roast.
The day will also feature an Antique Car Show, Bouncy Castles, SDG Mobile Library, and a Scarecrow Contest.
Judging for the Scarecrow Contest will begin promptly at 10:30 a.m.
As a special treat children will get to experience the ever-popular Junkyard Symphony. This is a extremely interactive show for all ages.
Children will also get to bounce all of their energy out on the bouncy castles.
The best part of this occasion is that it is free. The only is to cover the cost of your lunch, should you choose to purchase it.
The lunch will include mouth-watering pork and delicious sides.
Visitors will also have the chance to testout the new pickleball courts that were just opened this past weekend.
Tickets are available at Brinston General Store, from any Matilda Memorial Recreation Committee member, or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
