BMR workshops to continue thanks to high demands

WINCHESTER — On Wednesday, September 13 Winchester BMR launched its first workshop, due to the tremendous interest they opened up the first class from 12 to 16 enthusiastic participants.

Each participant was introduced to the various applications of Chalked Paint, prepping a piece to be painted, and the different techniques used to put the finishing touches to their masterpiece such as layering colours, dry brushing, glazing, waxing, sanding and distressing.

Their first project was a pine tray and a mason jar that can used in your kitchen, office or bathroom.  We started by getting a base coat on the tray and then painted the mason jars with the same colour. While we were waiting for the paint to dry, we took a refreshment break, a big thank you goes out to Cup of Jo’s of Winchester, who prepared the delicious squares.

The participants then had a choice of a second colour or glaze to finish their piece.  Afterwards, they were shown how to sand the tray to give it a weathered, time worn look and put the finishing touches to their mason jars.
