Presentations aimed at small-scale food producers, agri-businesses Oct. 19 in Long Sault

CORNWALL — All Things Food/Bouffe360° in partnership with the Social Development Council of Cornwall and Area, Cornwall and the Counties Community Futures Development Corporation and SDG counties will host a half-day speaker series on October 19. The event begins at 9 a.m. at the South Stormont Hall, 2 Milles Roches Rd., in Long Sault, with coffee and refreshments and speeches will commence at 9:30. The day will end at 2 p.m.

Speeches will feature resources and information for small scale producers and agri-food businesses who are looking to scale up in our region.

Topics will range from innovation and the value of a shared economy, delivery/distribution, healthy and safety requirements, packaging, labelling, food traceability, and key resources in the area.  The day will conclude with an interactive question and answer panel of local business owners with lived experience scaling up their business to meet emerging markets. Come prepared with questions!

Lunch will be served following the speaker series, and attendees are  encouraged to stay and network.  Those wishing to set up samples to help promote their product are encouraged to RSVP and then connect with the organizers no later than October 11. There is no added cost for exhibiting, however table space is limited.

The event costs $20 which includes taxes and lunch.
