Kubota’s commercial line of skidsteers and excavators showcased
WINCHESTER — Topline Trailers & Equipment Sales hitched up some good vibes with their customer base by hosting an autumn open house.
A division of Weagant Farm Supplies, the County Rd. 31 firm diverged this year from the early-spring open-house tradition of the parent company. Instead, the owners opted to pull in a lunchtime crowd of about 200 people on Sept. 30 — especially to help showcase the recent addition of Kubota’s commercial line of skidsteer loaders and excavators.
Established in 1993, the dealership has long carried Kubota’s iconic orange agricultural equipment — although, as the company name suggests, the initial focus was on the trailer segment that the firm continues to serve. Co-owner and general manager Scott Weagant observed that sales of Kubota machines actually account for 70 percent of the business at Top Trailers & Equipment these days.
The operation has grown to 12 employees and is looking to fill another position, Weagant said. The shop also underwent an expansion a year and a half ago. Customers come from all over Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry as well as the south end of Ottawa — a trend that’s expected to continue with those orange excavators now sitting in the yard northwest of Winchester, near Harmony Corners.
