RUSSELL — Enjoy an insightful, one-of-a-kind art experience in Russell this Saturday. DeafBlind Ontario Services will be hosting its first Art in the Dark fundraising event at Russell High School, October 14, from 5:00 – 9:00 p.m.
Visitors will experience the artistic process while undergoing a simulation exercise wearing earplugs and an eye mask. By using touch, they will interact with art in ways they may not have before. This exercise will provide them with a better understanding deafblindness. At the end of the evening, guests will have created a work of art to take home.
To enhance this unique sensory experience, guests will also enjoy a delicious dinner, fabulous live and silent auctions, and raffle.
Art in the Dark, presented by Scotiabank in Russell, raises funds to support residential and specialized services for individuals who are deafblind.
