Moose on the loose in South Dundas

MORRISBURG — An OPP officer monitored a young bull moose as it ambled across County Rd. 31, north of Morrisburg, today.

Jen Harbers had just finished picking grapes at nearby Stone Crop Acres Winery & Vineyard and was headed into the village to pick up a pizza for lunch when she spotted the animal on the west side of 31. “We came across him right near the old truck stop,” she reported.

Harbers took several photos and a video on her cell phone. “It was really cool!” she exclaimed. “A police officer had to stop traffic when the moose started walking towards the road, and then helped guide it across.”
