NORTH DUNDAS — Various power tools and a generator were stolen from a County Rd. 3 residence sometime overnight, Oct. 12-13.
The theft was reported to the SD&G OPP the following morning. An investigation continues.
SOUTH DUNDAS — An impaired driver was intercepted and arrested by pursuing officers after failing to comply with their request to stop, according to the SD&G OPP. The Oct. 15 event unfolded shortly before 3 p.m. when the detachment responded to a County Rd. 2 traffic complaint.
Police say Darrin Heustis, 49, of South Dundas, faces impaired driving-related charges, along with charges of Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Flight While Pursued by Peace Officer.
He was released and scheduled to appear in Morrisburg court on Nov. 14.

SOUTH DUNDAS — An Oct. 14 traffic stop led to the arrest of a South Dundas man alleged to be driving while impaired by alcohol.
According to the SD&G OPP, Garson Whitford, 45, was released and scheduled to appear Nov. 14 in Morrisburg court.
Vehicle stolen in South Glengarry
SOUTH GLENGARRY — A 2012 Green Toyota Rav 4 was stolen overnight, Oct. 13-14, from a Page Drive residence in South Glengarry.
The SUV vehicle had Ontario licence plate BTPT902, according to the SD&G OPP, which continues to investigate.
SOUTH DUNDAS — Their journey through South Dundas on Highway 401 came to an abrupt halt when the SD&G OPP clocked them at more than 50 km/h over the posted limit and impounded their vehicles for a week. Four drivers were subject to that on-the-spot penalty, along with the seven-day seizure of their drivers licences, as “excessive” speeders captured by the provisions of Ontario’s stunt-driving legislation.
The latest round of motorists to reach this threshold included:
• a 26-year-old man from North York, Ontario — 153 km/h at 7:34 p.m. on Oct. 13.
• a 29-year-old woman from Madison, Illinois — 153 km/h at 12:53 p.m. on Oct. 14.
• an 18-year-old woman from London, Ontario — 154 km/h at 2:29 p.m. on Oct. 14.
• a 51-year-old man from Vaughan, Ontario — 153 km/h at 7:31 p.m. on Oct. 14.
