Man dies in Morrisburg motorcycle collision

MORRISBURG — A collision involving a car and a motorcycle at the traffic lights in Morrisburg has left a man dead.

A passenger vehicle was travelling eastbound on County Rd. 2 shortly before 2:30 p.m. last Friday (Oct. 20) when, for reasons still under investigation by the SD&G OPP, it collided with a westbound motorcycle in the westbound lane of the roadway.

Ronald Taillefer, 77, of North Glengarry was pronounced deceased at the hospital, according to the SD&G OPP. The lone 18-year-old female driver of the car was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

SD&G OPP, assisted by OPP Traffic Collision Investigators (TCI), investigated the scene, setting up detours around the site for several hours.
