MORRISBURG — A number of SD&G OPP cruisers are reported to have rushed onto the MacEwen’s gas station/McDonald’s outlet in Morrisburg after 1 p.m. this afternoon.

Const. Tylor Copeland told Nation Valley News that “several” officers were involved in responding to a male with a mental health issue. The man is known to the detachment, “so that’s why there were probably several officers,” said Copeland.

Observer Ralph Cooper told Nation Valley News that he was “scurried” off the site by officers as he tried to take a photo. “They have their big guns out [and] 10 to 15 vehicles,” he reported in a Facebook message. Cooper clarified that he saw officers armed with rifles.
