Aggravated sexual assault, forcible confinement charges in N. Stormont; charges in N. Dundas collision

NORTH STORMONT — A 35-year-old North Stormont man faces a slew of serious charges, including forcible confinement and aggravated sexual assault, for multiple criminal offences the SD&G OPP say he committed against his girlfriend.

Officers arrested the man Oct. 30 after responding to a reported domestic situation around 9 a.m. at a North Stormont residence. Police say he assaulted the woman during an altercation that morning. Further investigation revealed additional offences against the victim on previous occasions.

His name is not being revealed to protect her identity.

He’s been charged with: assault (four counts); sexual assault (two counts); aggravated sexual assault; assault with a weapon; uttering threats (three counts); forcible confinement; criminal harassment; fail to comply with probation (10 counts); and mischief (two counts).

The accused was held in custody pending a bail appearance in Cornwall.

Charges laid following Halloween collision

NORTH DUNDAS — Both drivers emerged without injuries — but not without charges — when their vehicles collided on Halloween night in North Dundas.

The SD&G OPP say that officers arrested Hayley Arthurs, 33, of North Stormont, and  Kyle Shane, 25, of North Dundas, after being called to the County Rd. 13 scene around 6:05 p.m. Suspected quantities of marijuana were seized from both drivers, according to the detachment, and each faces a charge of possession of a controlled substance.

Arthurs must also answer to charges related to driving while impaired by alcohol, according to the SD&G OPP. She was released to appear in Cornwall court on Nov. 11.

Shane was also released to appear in Morrisburg court on Dec. 5.

Domestic investigation

NORTH STORMONT — A Nov. 5 domestic situation on Warina Rd. drew the attention of SD&G OPP officers and a charge of mischief for an adult male.

The 29-year-old man was arrested when officers responded to the scene shortly before 10:30 a.m. Police say he damaged a victim’s belongings.

He was released and scheduled to appear Nov. 28 in Cornwall court.

His name was not released to protect the identity of the victim.

North Dundas break-in

NORTH DUNDAS — The SD&G OPP report that a generator and fishing equipment were recently stolen during a nighttime break-in at a residence on Development Rd.

An investigation continues.

Drugs seized at traffic stop

NORTH STORMONT — SD&G OPP officers seized a quantity of suspected methamphetamine from a woman during a Nov. 3 traffic stop on County Rd. 138 in North Stormont.

The detachment says that Roxane Morin, 28, of Gatineau was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance after the vehicle was pulled over shortly after 8:20 p.m.

She was released and scheduled to appear in Cornwall court on Nov. 30.

Stolen ATV  

SOUTH STORMONT — A Kawasaki ATV was stolen from a County Rd. 18 residence in South Stormont, sometime between Nov. 3-4.

The red and black K7P side-by-side model bore Ontario licence plate 68TK4. The SD&G OPP continue to investigate.

Stolen superbike

NORTH GLENGARRY —  A 2008 Blue and White Suzuki GSXR motorcycle was stolen from a North Glengarry property sometime on Nov. 4.

The theft from the Loch Garry Rd. residential address was reported to the SD&G OPP that evening. The missing superbike bore Ontario licence plate 8187Z.
