CHESTERVILLE — The OPP turned up no evidence during a Nov. 10 search of a swamp behind an old schoolhouse north of Chesterville.

The presence of OPP Underwater and Recovery Unit vehicles drew local attention while parked at the mouth of an opened road allowance that heads into a wooded area, east of the intersection of county roads 7 and 3, beside the former S.S. #11 school.

Acting Sergeant Tina Hunt, communications officer for the OPP’s East Region, said that officers “did not locate anything” during their evidentiary search. She could not divulge the nature of the investigation that prompted the unit’s visit to the site.
