SOUTH DUNDAS — Two South Dundas men in their 20s have been arrested and charged after police raided a residence and recovered property stolen from Cedar Glen Golf Course as well as other locations on County Rd. 18.

Officers with the Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau – Community Street Crime Unit and the SD&G OPP also seized marijuana when they executed the warrant at a County Rd. 18 address, Nov. 18.

Police say that Shayne McAdam, 23, and Randy Froats, 22, have been individually charged with: Possession of a Controlled Substance; six counts of Break and Enter; six counts of Mischief; five counts of theft Under $5,000; and Possession of Property obtained by crime.

Both accused were released and scheduled to appear in Morrisburg court Jan. 9.

Their arrests follow a pair of break-ins at Cedar Glen Golf Course on Saddlemire Rd. this fall — the last on Nov. 17. In that incident, somebody entered the business and removed alcohol. Police say further investigation determined a connection to damage and thefts occurring at several other County Rd. 18 addresses — with power tools, a gas generator, war memorabilia, food and Canadian currency stolen from those other sites.

In the first break-in at the golf course, thieves took off with a Yamaha golf cart, as well as money and various tools, sometime overnight on Oct. 22.
