In the video above, Mayor Eric Duncan declares Bill Smirle as this year’s North Dundas Community Builder Award recipient in Morewood July 5 during the first Canada 150 ‘Meet Me on Main Street’ event of the summer in the township. Smirle will be officially recognized tonight (Nov. 28), but in keeping with tradition, advance notice was made of the upcoming honour. In this case the announcement came in front of past recipients who gathered in front of the stage during the well-attended street party in the village where Bill and Nancy Smirle reside.
