RUSSELL — A school bus collided with a sanitation truck outside Embrun yesterday, sending one person — the school bus driver — to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, say Russell County OPP.

Paramedics also examined the five students on the bus at the time, along with the driver of the other vehicle.

The traditional yellow bus was eastbound on Route 500 W, west of Embrun, when the collision occurred with the westbound sanitation truck, around 5:30 p.m. on Dec. 13.

The incident remains under investigation.

It’s the second two-vehicle crash involving a school bus within Russell County OPP jurisdiction this month. On the morning of Dec. 4, a pick-up truck rear-ended a bus in Clarence-Rockland without injury to the 21 students inside.
