Boys, 14 and 15, arrested for S. Dundas break-in; S. Stormont resident interrupts burglary at home

SOUTH DUNDAS — Police apprehended two teenaged boys at the scene of a County Rd. 2 break-in on Dec. 11.

SD&G OPP officers responded to the in-progress crime shortly before 11:20 a.m. and discovered a 14-year-old and a 15-year-old male at the former business site. The address had been forcibly entered and several items removed, according to the detachment.

Both teens, who can’t be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, are residents of South Dundas. They were released after their arrest and are due Jan. 25 in Cornwall court.

The elder accused has been charged with Break and Enter; Possession of Property Obtained by Crime; Fail to Comply with conditions of Probation Order (three counts); and Possession of a Controlled substance (marijuana).

The younger boy has been charged with Break and Enter.

Homeowner interrupts brazen burglar

SOUTH STORMONT — A resident of Kent Crescent returned home after 5 p.m. to discover an unknown male inside the dwelling.

The break-in artist — described as a white male between 30 and 40 years old, wearing a black jacket and white Nike running shoes — fled without take any property.

SD&G OPP officers and the SD&G K9 Unit responded to the Dec. 13 incident but couldn’t pick up the brazen burglar’s trail.

Cannabis charges in North Glengarry 

NORTH GLENGARRY — A man was arrested Dec. 13 as SD&G OPP officers seized a quantity of marijuana during a follow-up investigation at a County Rd. 45 residence. Police arrived at the address shortly before 7:40 p.m.

The detachment says that John Rose, 26, of North Glengarry, is charged with possession of a controlled substance. He was released and scheduled to appear in Alexandria court on Jan. 10.
