Ottawa woman robbed after being drugged by potential home buyer

OTTAWA — Police are investigating after an elderly woman was drugged and robbed on Dec. 7 by a male who posed as a prospective home buyer. After ingesting the wine and chocolates he offered her she lost consciousness. She awoke to find money and other valuables missing from her Riverside Drive and Hunt Club area home.

Male suspect described as a white male, and was of medium build and height, 45-50 years of age, with shaved head. He spoke English with a French accent. The suspect wore a dark hat and blue winter jacket and may be driving a white Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Police are also communicating with Montreal Police after discovering that similar incidents have occurred in Montreal around the same time frame.
