CHESTERVILLE — Schools remain open as a balmy January thaw continues this morning, but school buses were cancelled again, Jan. 12.
Student Transportation of Eastern Ontario made the decision in anticipation of a forecast sudden drop in temperatures and possible freezing rain early this evening. In a special weather advisory, Environment Canada says the precipitation will become snow overnight.
In the meantime, driving (and cycling and walking) conditions are great, for parents and caregivers who might have the opportunity to bring children to school themselves today. It’s the fifth day that buses have been cancelled during the 2017-18 school year.
