SDG — For twenty-one years, Raising the Roof’s annual Toque Campaign has worked with thousands of volunteers and supporters to provide long-term solutions to homelessness in Canada.
Habitat for Humanity Cornwall & The Counties is a proud partner of the campaign, and on Tuesday, February 6, they will commemorate over two decades of Toque Tuesday by taking part in the selling of toques for $15 (as well as ball caps and mittens for $20). Fifty percent of all proceeds raised locally will support building hope and homes in local communities.
The City of Cornwall has officially proclaimed Tuesday, February 6, as ‘Toque Tuesday’ and the Township of South Stormont will consider the proclamation at their next council meeting.
Staff and volunteers from Habitat Cornwall will be selling toques, ball caps and mittens at the ReStore in Cornwall, Boston Pizza Cornwall, and BMR Winchester as well as online at www.raisingtheroof.org.
Look for staff and community volunteers at the ReStore, Boston Pizza, and BMR.
Since 1997, the annual Toque Campaign has raised more than $8 million for over 200 community agencies across Canada. The collective effort between Raising the Roof and Habitat for Humanity Cornwall & The Counties helps to support low-income, working families in Cornwall and The Counties by assisting our Home Build Program and ReStore operations.
