Two males charged for possession of unstamped tobacco

SOUTH GLENGARRY — A suspicious black Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck was stopped on February 27, along the St. Lawrence River shoreline by the Cornwall Regional Task Force (CRTF). Inside the pickup truck, officers located and seized 50 bags of unstamped fine cut tobacco weighing a total of 663 kg.

Alexis McDougall, 35, of Ottawa, and Robert Petry, 42, of Cornwall were arrested and charged for possession of unstamped tobacco.

Petry was later released from custody and is scheduled to appear in the Cornwall Provincial Court on February 27. McDougall was charged with failure to comply with an undertaking, and remains in custody pending a bail hearing on February 2.
