WINCHESTER – The Dundas County Player’s annual general meeting served up a potluck dinner, a sneak peek at the upcoming production of The 39 Steps, and the continuation of a stable board to see the amateur theatre troupe through 2018.

The Jan. 21 session featured information on logistics, sponsors, patrons as well as the treasurer’s report. A look back on 2017 showed success across the board. DCP is working with the Township of North Dundas to install a new HVAC system when the roof at the Old Town Hall gets replaced. The old noisy system has been a problem for a long time. Ironically, it has to be shut down during performances — when the theatre is at its hottest and sweatiest — to allow audiences to hear what’s happening on stage. Patrons alternate between baking in the heat or freezing in the cold, depending on the season.

The board also voted in favour of amending the DCP constitution, tweaking the duties of the Stage Manager and Front of House Coordinator.
