Not too late to take a frigid dip

WINCHESTER — Catch the spectacle of the 4th annual ‘Freezin’ for a Reason’ this afternoon at the Community Care Building. Or better yet, directly assist the Glengarry Inter-Agency Group (GIAG) fundraiser by taking a dip in the cold, cold water yourself!

It’s not too late to come up with the minimum $200 entry fee (or equivalent sponsor money) and show up at the 530 Fred Street registration desk before the icy plunge goes ahead at 2 p.m.

Similar to a polar bear plunge, the annual event sees participants in bathing suits (and sometimes crazy costumes) crazily jumping into a canvas pool set up by local firefighters. The funds go toward youth programs offered by GIAG in Dundas County.
