CORNWALL — Save the date! South Nation Conservation (SNC) invites septic system designers, installers and contractors to attend its Annual Septic Meeting on March 29.
“This year’s session will feature discussions on new changes to the Ontario Building Code (OBC), general inspection procedures, permit applications, and will provide the opportunity for participants to share expertise and experiences,” said Monique Sauve, SNC’s Lead Inspector – Part VIII – OBC – Septic Systems.
“Product providers will also be on-site to demonstrate new septic product installations to participants.”
The meeting will be held at the Cornwall Civic Complex located at 100 Water Street East, Cornwall, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

On March 6-8 and 12-13, SNC will also be hosting an exam preparation course in French at the SNC Office, for on-site sewage system inspectors, designers and supervisors wishing to write the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing On-Site Sewage Systems qualification exam.

SNC septic officials conduct septic system inspections and issue permits for 13 municipalities. Coverage includes all regions within the United Counties of Prescott and Russell and Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry, with the exception of North and South Glengarry. Beginning in 2017, SNC expanded its program and is now the septic approval authority for the City of Cornwall. In 2017, over 370 septic permits were issued to residents across the jurisdiction.
