RUSSELL — The Kin Club of Russell’s 6th annual RocKIN Away With Diamonds was a great success Saturday night, Feb. 17, as some 125 eager dancers filled the dance floor at Russell High School while Eddy & the Stingrays, in their 38th year as a band, rocked the house with their high energy, choreographed show band.

The dance floor was packed from the first cords of the first song until closing time.

Kim Williams won the $500 diamond earrings draw, thanks to sponsor Bijoutiers Longtin Jewelers of Embrun.

Russell Scotiabank matched funds for the night bringing their total contributions to the Russell Township Sports Dome to well over $30,000. The Kin Club of Russell also graciously thanked sponsors M&M Meats, OrthoMedix, Colliers Project Leaders, Mayor Pierre Leroux and KB Media.

The Kin Club of Russell’s next major project is the 19th edition of the Poutmasters Fishing Derby, May 11th to 13th on the Castor River. This year, Poutmasters will add the “Poutmasters Pro Series” for serious fishermen, along with a draw for a $500 day at the spa for Mother’s Day, sponsored by Stella’s Touch in Russell.
