Chesterville Rotary Club celebrates 80th anniversary, May 12

CHESTERVILLE — The Rotary Club of Chesterville celebrates its 80th anniversary with a banquet on Sat., May 12, at the local Legion.

The milestone is a follow-up to the Club’s 75th anniversary bash in 2013.

The Club was founded in April 1938, initially meeting at the McCloskey Hotel. Meetings take place today at the LaPrade Centre.

Only 80 seats are available for the upcoming anniversary dinner, which starts at 6:30 p.m. Tickets were initially sold at the Scotiabank branch in Chesterville but are now available exclusively from Rotary Club members. Call Betty Vanden Bosch no later than May 4 to inquire about tickets: 613 448-2359.

The event also features a talk by author Mary Cook.
