Police release names of nine accused after Alexandria drug raid

ALEXANDRIA — The SD&G OPP has released the names and nature of the charges against nine individuals arrested during a March 2 drug raid on several residences and one business in Alexandria.

Police say they seized drugs with an estimated street value of $42,540 in the “Project REDSTART” action involving the Community Street Crime Unit, OPP Tactical Rescue Unit, Emergency Response Team, Canine Unit, Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau, Cornwall Community Police Service and SD&G OPP. The drugs included 1064 Hydromorphone pills; 27 Fentanyl patches; 594 grams of marihuana; and 66 grams of hash.

Police also say they seized two handguns, two Tasers, nunchucks, “multiple” long guns, ammunition, six replica handguns, along with $15,000 in Canadian cash.

According to the detachment, those arrested and charged include:

• Pierre Larose, 59, of North Glengarry. He’s charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance for the purpose of Trafficking (11 counts); Unauthorized Possession of a weapon (2 counts); Careless storage of ammunition (3 counts); Public Mischief; Fraud over $5,000 (5 counts); and Possession of property obtained by crime (2 counts). Larose was held in custody pending a bail hearing at Cornwall Court.

• Brigitte Martinson, 49, of North Glengarry. She’s charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance for the purpose of Trafficking (11 counts); Unauthorized Possession of a weapon (2 counts); Careless storage of ammunition (2 counts); and Possession of property obtained by crime (2 counts). Martinson was was held in custody pending a bail hearing at Cornwall Court.

• Claude Lavigne, 53, of North Glengarry. He’s charged with Possession of a controlled substance; Produce a controlled substance; Fail to comply with conditions of a recognizance; and Fail to comply with conditions of an undertaking. Lavigne was was held in custody pending a bail hearing at Cornwall Court.

• Luc Leroux, 52, of North Glengarry, faces a charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance. He was released and scheduled to appear in Alexandria court on April 4.

• Christian Seguin, 34, of North Glengarry, faces two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance for the purpose of Trafficking. He was released and scheduled to appear in Alexandria court on April 4.

• Gordon Hodges, 31, of North Glengarry, faces a charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance for the purpose of Trafficking. He was released and scheduled to appear in Alexandria court on April 4.

• Jonathan Carrierre, 21, of North Glengarry. He’s charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance for the purpose of Trafficking; Possession of a Controlled Substance (2 counts); Fail to comply with conditions of a probation order (2 counts); and Possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to probation order (2 counts). Carrierre was held in custody pending a bail hearing at Cornwall Court.

• Rebecca Lacombe, 40, of North Glengarry. She’s charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance for the purpose of Trafficking; Possession of a Controlled Substance (2 counts); Fail to comply with conditions of a probation order (4 counts); and Fail to comply with conditions of a recognizance. Lacombe was held in custody pending a bail hearing at Cornwall Court.

• Maxime Cater, 28, of North Glengarry, is charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance for the purpose of Trafficking; Unauthorized Possession of a weapon (3 counts); and Possession of property obtained by crime.

“These arrests will have a significant impact in the small community of Alexandria,” said Dean Canham Detective Sergeant of the Community Street Crime Unit.

Police say their investigation continues.
