CORNWALL — Vagabond Theatre of Cornwall presents the comedy The Ladies Foursome by Canadian playwright Norm Foster on April 20, 21, 27, 28 at 7:30 p.m. and on Sunday April 22 at 1:30 p.m. The performances will take place at St. John’s Presbyterian Church Hall, 28 Second Street East, Cornwall.
The play is directed by Katie Burke and produced by Dan Youmelle. The cast members include Yvonne Lortie, Patricia Lloyd, Laurie Manzer and Laurie McRae-Bingley.
Burke stated that Norm Foster has written over 50 plays and has been the most produced playwright in Canada every year for the past twenty years.
Burke explained”The Ladies Foursome is set on a golf course where four women are playing a round of golf in memory of their friend, Catherine. Over the course of the play, it is revealed that although a weekly golf game has been going on for fourteen years, there is much that they do not know about each other. Connie has never lost a game and comes face-to-face with Dory who has much more golf experience than Connie suspects and the challenge is on. Margo and Tate play on courageously, knowing that they will never win but hoping that because they are playing best ball, there is a good chance of being on the winning team! This comedy is rollicking good fun – for golfers and non-golfers alike.”
Tickets at $20 are available at Scotiabank or at www.vagabondtheatrecornwall.ca.
