INGLESIDE — Plans are underway for the Ingleside Firefighter’s Association Celebration 60 Event which will be held Saturday, July 21 in front of the Ingleside Shopping Plaza. This year, in honour of the 60th Anniversary of the creation of the community, the organizing committee is planning a full day and evening of events for community members and visitors of all ages.

“This is the twelfth year that the Association hosts a summer event on the third Saturday in July” stated Stacy Charlebois, Committee Chair. “It’s become somewhat of a homecoming weekend for many friends and family who no longer live in the area and we are hopeful that this year will be no different especially since it’s the 60th Anniversary for our community.”

Family friendly activities being planned include: inflatables, pony rides, face painting, a barbecue, entertainers and a dunk tank. In the evening, the main event takes place with three live bands and a beer garden. “We are thrilled to announce this year’s stellar entertainment lineup: The Shiners will start the night off, followed by Kilts, Riffs and Spurs and Hadrian’s Wall will keep the party going into the night” said Jennifer MacIsaac, Event Organizer.

This event, like past summer Ingleside Firefighter Association events, will be free to attend. In order to make this possible, the Committee has begun their sponsorship drive and local businesses are responding positively. “We are very fortunate to have the annual backing of so many local businesses. They are the ones who help us make this event possible and we are very grateful for their support” stated Paul MacIsaac, Event Organizer. Any businesses interested in contributing can contact Paul MacIsaac at 613-537-2555 to obtain further information.

Organizers are hoping that current and former residents of the community of South Stormont will clear their calendars for Saturday, July 21 and come “home” for what they plan to be the biggest summer bash of the year.
