CHESTERVILLE — North Dundas and Papineau are headed to Game 7 in the National Capital Junior Hockey League championship after the Jr. C teams traded victories on the road this weekend.

The Vikings ensured the 2018 championship trophy wouldn’t be captured by the Rockets at home this afternoon, beating the local squad 4-1 and tying the series 3-3.

The Rockets’ loss today followed their Game 5 win over their Quebec-based opponents in Blanchaud Brière yesterday evening. Saturday night’s victory put the Rockets a game ahead of Papineau and the NCJHL championship within reach as they entered today’s contest in Chesterville.

Papineau’s victory was the team’s second win over North Dundas at home in three days: The teams also clashed Friday night in Chesterville, where the visitors took the contest 5-4 and equalized the series 2-2 at that point.

The location of Game 7 has yet to be officially announced.
