Motorcyclist airlifted from Highway 401 after accident at Morrisburg turn-off

MORRISBURG — A motorcyclist was involved in an accident near the Morrisburg overpass on Highway 401 around 3:30 p.m. this afternoon. The rider was flown to Ottawa by air ambulance (which arrived for pick-up on the 401’s westbound lanes, as shown in the photo above).

Firefighters from the Morrisburg Station were involved in the response. Nation Valley News has sought further information from the SD&G OPP.

There are no reports of fatalities connected with the incident.

Update: The SD&G OPP report the injured party was a 51-year-old female passenger who fell off the westbound bike around 2:45 p.m. A resident of Quebec, she is recovering in hospital from serious, non-life-threatening injuries sustained in the incident occurring at mile marker 750. The male driver was uninjured
