INGLESIDE — Humble Beginnings Brewing Co. (HBBCo.) held their grand opening celebrations on Saturday, April 28 in Ingleside. Celebrations kicked off with a keg tapping attended by a number of local politicians including all members of the South Stormont Council, the Warden for SDG, members of SDG Council, the MPP and the MP. Also in attendance were a number of local businesses that had worked with the Brewery, the President of the South Stormont Chamber of Commerce, staff members from South Stormont and the United Counties of SDG that had provided support along the way, and friends and family of the owners, Pierre Doucette and Susan Wallwork.

Speaking at the event, Doucette commented on the positive response they had received from the community since opening their doors mid-February and thanked those who had helped them to get to this point.

The grand opening was also an opportunity to showcase the beers currently available at the Brewery, including their staple “Mad Canadian Kölsch” and their “Fourth and Oak Oatmeal Stout”. In addition to these two brews, a special release “65 Roses Red IPA” and “The Jolly Publican English Bitter” were also released for the celebrations.

The grand opening was also used to announce the partnership between Humble Beginnings and Cystic Fibrosis (CF) Canada through the Cornwall and Area Chapter. “When we started planning to open Humble Beginnings, it was important for us to include opportunities to give back” said Doucette. “Today, we are excited to share our “65 Roses Red IPA” which was specifically brewed for this partnership”. All sales of the “65 Roses Red IPA” will be donated to CF Canada to help those living with CF and those researching improved care and a cure.

Following the keg tapping, the Brewery saw a steady stream of thirsty individuals that came out to welcome HBBCo. to the community and celebrate local craft beer. Starting in May, HBBCo. will offer additional hours on Fridays from 1-6 p.m., as well as extending their hours on Saturdays by opening at 11 a.m.
