WINCHESTER — Ontario election 2018 is underway, and the local candidates in Stormont-Dundas-South Glengarry will meet to compare platforms and answer questions from the public this Thursday, May 17.

Jointly organized by the North Dundas Chamber of Commerce and the Dundas Federation of Agriculture, the all-candidate meeting begins 7:30 p.m. upstairs at the Joel Steele Community Centre (Winchester Arena).

Confirmed attendees include incumbent MPP Jim McDonell (Progressive Conservative), Heather Megill (Liberal), Marc Benoit (NDP), Sabile Trimm (Libertarian) and Elaine Kennedy (Green).

Technically, the list of contenders seeking office in S-D-SG isn’t locked in yet. Additional names could still come out of the woodwork as prospective candidates (independent or otherwise) have until 2 p.m. on May 17 to file nomination papers at the returning office in Cornwall.

Ontarians head to the polls on June 7.
