Some say his career started in the WDMH Delivery Room!
WINCHESTER — Chad Simmons was born at Winchester District Memorial Hospital – no doubt giving out a great big yell upon his arrival. Now, 22 years later, he’s getting ready to shout for WDMH again!
Chad is the official auctioneer for the Saturday Night Fever WDMH Disco Gala taking place on Saturday, June 16 at the Joel Steele Community Centre. With gavel in hand, he’ll be leading the live auction, hoping the crowd will be inspired to reach for their wallets to purchase some amazing items for themselves, while supporting local health care at the same time.
Chad sold his first item at the Simmons Family farm auction at the age of 10. Since then, he has been following in his father’s footsteps and has his own auction company. His main work is with car auctions, but he also supports 10 to 15 charity auctions each year. Recently, he competed in the World Automotive Auctioneers Championship in Chicago.
“We are very grateful to have Chad on board for this year’s gala,” notes Kristen Casselman, Managing Director. “In fact, Chad sold me my first live auction item a few years ago.”
“I have a lot of respect for Winchester District Memorial Hospital and I’m happy to be involved,” says Chad. “It’s a great hospital and my first choice for care.”
In addition to live and silent auctions, there are many more fun events planned for the evening,
including a delicious meal served by Winchelsea Events, a cash bar coordinated by the Winchester Lions Club, great music by Groovy Little Orchestra, 70’s games, contests and a photo booth.
Proceeds from the event go to the WDMH Foundation’s Family Care Fund, supporting care for families just like yours.
Tickets are now on sale for $125 each. Stop by the Foundation office in the hospital lobby or call the Foundation Office at 613-774-2422, ext. 6162 to purchase your tickets.
