LEEDS — A ‘hangry’ patron called 9-1-1 because her pizza order wasn’t ready when she arrived at an Elgin, Ontario, eatery yesterday (June 11) — but wasn’t fined or charged for the cheesy move.
Rideau Lakes OPP received the 9-1-1 call for service from the 32-year-old woman seeking police assistance with her pizza predicament around 9 p.m.
Officers arrived and found the woman and her son in their car waiting to explain her dissatisfaction with the restaurant.
In reply, the officers educated her on the proper use of the 9-1-1 system.
Leeds County OPP Staff Sergeant Josh Kingsley sends a reminder: “For a life-threatening situation or imminent danger or crime that’s in progress, that’s when you call 9-1-1.”
