One man in critical condition after July 4 Hwy. 401 collision in South Glengarry

SOUTH GLENGARRY — A section of Highway 401 (between mile markers 814 and 825) was closed yesterday in South Glengarry after a collision around 1 p.m.On July 4, 2018 at 1:01 p.m.

Investigation by SD&G OPP indicated that at a truck with a 69-year-old male driver was travelling westbound when, for reasons still under investigation, left the westbound lanes and entered into the eastbound lanes and struck a van with a 49-year-old male driver.

Both drivers were transported to the hospital, the 69-year-old male is in critical condition while the 49-year-old male suffered non-life threatening injuries.

A section of Highway 401(Between MM814 and MM825) was closed to traffic, but has since been reopened.

SD&G OPP, assisted by OPP Traffic Collision Investigators (TCI) continue to investigate.
