RUSSELL — Nicolas Daoust, a lifelong resident of Russell Township has announced his candidacy for councillor for Russell Township.

Daoust stated, “I’ve decide to run for council because the Township has been great for my family and me, and now I want to make this Township even better for others and their families.

If elected, I will promote council accountability, fiscal responsibility and give a voice to everyone.

In recent months, the Township of Russell was named the third best place in Ontario to raise a family and the sixth best place to live in the province. My goal is to bring our Township to number one, by making smart decisions that will help continue the progress that we’ve seen.”

Daoust is a Hill Staffer and is currently completing a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. He loves to volunteer in the community during his free time and is a member of the Kin Club of Russell.
