WILLIAMSBURG — Habitat for Humanity Cornwall & The Counties hosted a successful two day event in Williamsburg on July 27 and 28 that saw over 40 participants come out to the Home Build at 4307 Locke Lane.

Individuals and teams raised pledges, a minimum of $50, in the weeks leading up to the Build Event. To add even more fun, prizes were awarded for top individual fundraiser and top team fundraiser. Tracy McMillan raised $810 to be awarded top individual fundraiser. It was a hard fought competition but the top team, comprised of Carrie Paquin, Karen McGregor, Karen Quigley, Claira Bastien, and Janet St. Pierre raised a whopping $1185. Honorable mention goes to the Iron Ladies who raised $1035.

Overall, the event raised a total of $3,500 to help make more builds, like this one in Williamsburg, a possibility.

Many local businesses helped to make this event possible with donations of food and coffee as well as prizes for participants.

The Beatty-Pinard Family, who will purchase this home from Habitat for Humanity upon completion, were also on hand to take part in the fun and to thank the participants for all of their hard work.
