CHESTERVILLE — Fancy fowl enthusiasts will buy and sell the best examples of their feathered friends at the Chesterville fairgrounds on Saturday.

Organizer Rylee Keeler says the Sept. 8 sale is a fundraiser for the recently revived poultry show at the annual Chesterville Fair. Keeler has successfully overseen the return of the poultry show in Chesterville, ensuring the birds made their comeback in 2017.  Entries rose to about 180 birds at the Fair’s 2018 edition in August, he says.

The sales runs 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., and “it’s a buy-sell-trade event, not an auction,” Keeler explains. “All sellers will be set up in the beef barn where people can walk around and look for a bargain. There will be lots of types of poultry. We even have a few calves and lambs coming.”

Participating vendors will be charged $20 for a spot to sell. See the official Facebook event.
