Charges laid related to Winchester bike thefts; ATVs and chainsaws stolen in S. Stormont

CHARGES LAID RELATING TO THEFTS

WINCHESTER — A slew of bikes thefts on Main Street, Winchester, were reported to SD&G OPP on September 10. Investigation indicated that sometime overnight culprit(s) entered garages/sheds and removed various bikes.

Later that day SD&G OPP arrested two male youths in connection with the thefts.

A 17- year-old male (same male as August 24 break in) from North Dundas, was arrested and is charged with;               

–             Possession of Property obtained by crime

–             Possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine)

–             Fail to Comply with conditions of an Recognizance ( 2 counts) YCJA

–             Fail to comply with Probation ( 2 counts) YCJA

He was held in custody pending a bail appearance in Cornwall court.

The name of the accused is being withheld in accordance with the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA).

 

A 16-year-old male from South Dundas, was arrested and is charged with;             

–             Possession of Property obtained by crime           

–             Two counts of failure to comply with probation (YCJA)

He was released pending a court appearance in Morrisburg court on October 9.

 

SD&G OPP officers also located a female during this incident that was wanted by the SD&G OPP. Investigation also indicated that the female was in contravention of conditions imposed from a previous incident and had several other charges against her. This resulted in the seizure of a quantity of suspected marihuana and methamphetamine.

Roxanne Hanson , 20, of North Dundas was arrested and is charged with;

– Eight counts of failure to Comply with Probation Order

– Three counts of possession of controlled substance

– Fraud under $5000

She was held in custody pending a bail appearance in Cornwall court.

 

ATV’S STOLEN

SOUTH STORMONT — Two ATV’s were stolen from a property on Collins Road shortly after 10:30 p.m. on September 10 in South Stormont. Police investigation indicated that sometime in the previous days a 2007 black Yamaha YFM70 ATV with Quebec Licence Plate (VM39118) and a 2004 Red Honda TRX65 ATV with Quebec plate VP75012 were removed from the property.

The culprits also stole three chainsaws (Husqvarna and 2 Stihl chainsaws) from the location.
