INGLESIDE —Humble Beginnings Brewing Co. (HBBCo.) presented Cystic Fibrosis Canada with a donation cheque on September 12. Funds were raised through an initiative started at the small-batch brewery in May — just three months after the new business opened its doors.

Earlier this year, HBBCo. released a special beer, their “65 Roses Red IPA”, to help raise funds and awareness for cystic fibrosis (CF), a genetic disease. All sales from the beer, plus any tips collected in May, were to be donated to help with the research to cure, and to support those living with CF.

In total, $5,830 was raised from the initiative. “We had a great response from our community” said Pierre Doucette, co-owner of HBBCo. “We are very grateful for the support of our staff, friends and customers, and we were extremely happy with the results”.

Beer was sold at the brewery, as well as at a small number of events attended by the Brewery. “This fundraiser gave us the opportunity to connect with the cystic fibrosis community” said Susan Wallwork, co-owner of HBBCo.

Brewery staff are already starting to plan for a 2019 fundraiser.
