Douglas Lindsey Howe
April 12, 1924 ~ August 26, 2018

At Joseph Brant Hospital in Burlington on Sunday, August 26, aged 94.  Beloved husband of Dorothy Eleanor (Mills) Howe. Predeceased by his parents, Rev. Joseph Bertram Howe and Helena (McLean) Howe, and two brothers, Lawrence M. Howe and Harold B. Howe.  

Doug joined Courtaulds (Canada) after graduating in Chemical Engineering from Queen’s University. During his forty-three year career with the Courtaulds Group he moved from technical operation into various management positions. During his twenty-two years with the Courtaulds North American plant in Mobile, Alabama, which came on stream in September, 1952, he successively became Technical Manager, Deputy Plant Manager, and Nylon Operations General Manager at that site. He returned to the Cornwall plant site as Plant Manager, retiring in 1988 as Vice-President of Operations.

Funeral Arrangements


Cremation has taken place. A graveside inurnment service will be held at St. Lawrence Valley Cemetery, Long Sault on Saturday, September 29, at 1:00 p.m. Memorial donations to Trinity Anglican Church, Cornwall or the Ottawa Regional Cancer Centre gratefully acknowledged.  Arrangements entrusted to Parker Funeral Home, 613 543-2271, Morrisburg.
