Last week was full of fun presentations and activities, all of which had a positive effect on the students. On Mon., Sept. 17, the “Push for Change” campaign showed up at North Dundas. The students learnt that no matter what age you are, you can change your life around. Not only can you improve your own life, you can better the lives of others who are struggling as well. Days later on Thurs., Sept, 20, “Live Different” showed up. However, this was not a regular presentation. There was lights, live music, and crowd interactions. Some students said it was like a “free concert at school”. Live Different added an extremely fun element to the good message they are spreading, and it will be a memorable day for the students.
Our first spirit day was last Friday (Sept. 21), and it was house colour day. Each grade had a different colour they were to dress in, and all grades were represented well by the participants. The spirit day was a success, so a huge thank you goes out to all students and staff who participated. Our next spirit day will be on Tues., Oct. 2, and it will be “Dundas Pride” day. This is to honour our students and staff in the annual student VS staff baseball game. If you are a student wishing to play, you can pay $3 to be entered in a draw. The student’s names picked will have the chance to play on the student team. If you are just wishing to see the game, buy-out price is $2. You can buy-out until this Friday (Sept. 28), so find a student council member in the main hallway at lunch to buy-out!
The Senior and Junior girls basketball teams are both travelling to Cornwall today to play against CCVS. We are wishing the girls best of luck.
Our annual Terry Fox walk is happening this Thurs., Sept 27. If you haven’t already signed up, you can sign up in the main hallway at Secondary or Intermediate lunches. If you have already collected your pledges, return your forms and money at the sign up table. There is a minimum $10 pledge required. Our goal is 3,500, so we hope each student can help us to reach our goal.
