OTTAWA — The Silver Anniversary Show of QuiltCo to be hosted at Ottawa’s Glebe Community Centre on September 29-30. QuiltCo is a group of 34 quilters from Ottawa and area who meet monthly to set each other challenges, show their work and share new techniques and materials as well as donate scores of their quilts to local charities each year.
The triennial exhibition and sale is described as a kaleidoscope of modern and traditional quilts which showcase the latest designer materials as well as the amazing things which can be created with scraps and recycled materials. On display will be work of individual quilters such as Chesterville area resident Carol Johnson and group projects.
In addition to the 200 quilts which will be on display Flair with Fabrics, Folk Village, Kallisti Quilts, Mad About Patchwork, Pickle Dish and Simply Fabric will be on site with their latest products. There will be quilts and other small handmade items for sale and the fabulous penny sale shouldn’t be missed.
The show runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Glebe Community Centre in Ottawa, with parking at the school across the street and an entrance fee of $8.00.
