SOUTH DUNDASA former South Dundas woman is accused of killing a local man in 2016.

The SD&G OPP says that 58-year-old Beverly Rose Thomas — recently living in Digby, Nova Scotia — has been charged with first degree murder in the death of South Dundas resident Edward Robert Allen, 67. The victim “succumbed to his injuries” shortly after paramedics and officers with the detachment found him in medical distress on Feb. 6, 2016, according to the SD&G OPP.

Allen’s death was deemed suspicious, and the charge follows a lengthy investigation by the SD&G Crime Unit, headed by Detective-Inspector Dan Nadeau of the Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB).

The accused will be transported to Ontario for an appearance in Cornwall court tomorrow, Sept. 28.

The OPP is “gratefully” acknowledging the Halifax Regional Police Service and RCMP in Digby, Nova Scotia, for “their respective support and assistance with this investigation.”
