It was a cold, rainy week, but activities still took place at ND. On Mon., Oct. 1, students and staff dressed in orange to support children who had to endure abuse in residential schools because every child matters.

Sadly, on Tues., Oct. 2, the student vs staff baseball game was rained out, and had to be postponed. The Junior and Senior girls basketball teams travelled to La Citadelle in Cornwall on Wed., Oct. 3. The Senior team fell behind early, but fought hard for a comeback in the fourth quarter. They were a few points short of the win, losing 27-24. The Juniors started off with an early lead, and won with a score of 26-15. The cross country team had their first big meet on Thurs., Oct 4. The runners travelled to St. Michael Catholic School in Kemptville for the annual turkey trot. The day started off cold and rainy, but the sun came out for the senior boys race. The team will travel to the Joel Steele Community Centre in Winchester on Fri., Oct. 12. Good luck runners! After a week long hiatus, the Junior and Senior boys volleyball teams will travel to Seaway District High School on Thurs., Oct 11. Great job to all athletes last week, and good luck to them this week!

A reminder to all students; picture retake day is this Friday, Oct. 12. If you want retakes or if you missed the original picture day last month, make sure to bring your smiles!
