Man charged after drugs, stolen ATV recovered in South Stormont

SOUTH STORMONT — A South Stormont man faces a number of charges following an Oct. 2 police raid on an Eligh-Beckstead Rd. property.

Quantities of marijuana, cocaine and methamphetamine were seized when officers with the Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), Emergency Response Team (ERT), Tactical Rescue Unit (TRU) and the SD&G OPP executed the Criminal Code Search Warrant, according to the local detachment. Also recovered was a stolen 2015 Polaris 570 Side by Side ATV — reported missing Sept. 26 from a property on Hunter’s Road, South Stormont, on Sept. 26.

A 27-year-old male fled the scene prior to police arriving at the raid site.

The SD&G OPP report that Scotty Summers, 27, of South Stormont Township, was arrested a week later, on Oct. 9. He’s charged with: Possession of Property obtained by crime over $5,000; four counts of Possession of a controlled substance; and five counts of fail to comply with conditions of a recognizance.

The accused was held for a bail appearance in Cornwall Court.
